LA Phil bassists David Allen Moore, Peter Rofé, Christopher Hanulik and Oscar M. Meza pose with John Adams and Gustavo after the final rehearsal of The Gospel According to the Other Mary on the 2013 Tour.

Back on familiar shores and mere hours away from the East Coast premiere of John Adams' The Gospel According to the Other Mary, the LA Phil's 2013 Tour is winding down. Sure, there's tonight's performance - not to mention tomorrow's - but the tour has entered its endgame.

And what a tour it's been - London, Lucerne, Paris. Green Umbrella, The Gospel and The Firebird. Education and performance. Precision and passion. Work and play. Whatever an orchestra tour is supposed to be, surely this is it. This is how you do a tour, and it's almost over.

But first, the LA Phil takes New York.

Not only will the orchestra be performing its two tour programs at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, Gustavo dropped by the SiriusXM studios to record his "Off the Podium" program with actor David Hyde Pierce for the SymphonyHall channel. Make sure to tune on MAR 29 at 6pm EDT to catch our Music Director as he talks about the tour and his career.

Gustavo poses with actor (and pianist) David Hyde Pierce after yesterday's taping of "Off the Podium" at the SiriusXM studios in New York.

If you're in New York, try to catch a show. If you're not, tune in to SiriusXM channel 76 on Friday and get ready to welcome the orchestra back to Walt Disney Concert Hall on APR 5!

Wherever you are, hopefully we'll see or hear from you soon.
